I’m not sure which update messed up my site, but while I’ve fixed most of it the portrait/vertical product images are way to large. I’ve tried different functions and CSS with no luck.

I’ve used Neve, Elementor, and WC for some time and never seen this happen. Before updating, the images were contained in height and had zoom. Landscapes are correct again, but not portraits.

Site is completely up-to-date and after some troubleshooting, it seems this is a WC container/wrap issue.

What is causing this and how to I fix it? Thanks!

    Hi @charlyibc

This could be due to various factors, but it’s likely related to your theme and page builder. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you do not see the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I hope that helps! Let me know once you have done a conflict test!

I’ve already done that, but will try again

The product image is the same in 2024 theme.

I looked over the code again and although I have a 400×700 image set, the code says 100×100. Again seems an issue with WC and not Neve or Elementor.

    Am I correct here?

Also I did get the portrait image not to take up the whole page gallery column, but going to the page you can see it’s too small being 100×100

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this @charlyibc .

From what I gather, you are testing with the 2024 theme on the one hand (no other plugins activated, other than WooCommerce), and Neve + Elementor on the other. Reporting that the resulting product image displays the same. Am I getting this?

Just to clarify, is there a snapshot (backup) available, from when things were displayed as required, or otherwise? That would help with identifying the culprit here.

Additionally, could you please provide us with a screenshot, so that we can see what you are describing? When trying to browse the product on the site, for investigating further, it returned a critical error, I’m afraid.

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, https://snipboard.io is a good option — for uploading it there, and sharing the link here afterward.
There is also a walkthrough guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Gosh I worked on my site all day yesterday to fix all that went wrong with numerous updates. Last time I checked the site in a different browser all was good, but I guess not ??

Yes the single product image is the same on Neve/Elementor and 2024 with just WC. While I was able to contain portrait/vertical image, it’s now showing as 100×100 instead of true size. All images should be and were before, shown fully then zoomed in on. Most landscapes are fine, but none of the portraits.

This morning there was an update for Elementor and that fixed the critical error. My link can now be accessed.

    Hi @charlyibc,

Thanks again for getting back with further details on this.

It’s good news to know that you are now able to access your link after their update.

Most landscapes are fine, but none of the portraits.

I understand the issue still persists even after the Elementor update. I tried checking your image dimension, but it seems I could not do so as you’ve disabled the option from your site.

Just as my colleague had earlier requested, are you able to share a screenshot of how the image looked before the issues started? This will be share more insight into finding where the issue is located.
