    When creating a Prettylink for:

    https://www.blablablablabla.com/ebook_'loving_it'/buy

And pressing save, the url gets turned into:

    https://www.blablablablabla.com/ebook_\'loving_it\'/buy

You can see this after opening the url again in Prettylinks after saving it. Redirection plugin (which I want to ditch) seems to handle this in a way that doesn’t cause any problems (it saves the link as entered).

Please note that I do not use special characters in my links, but sadly third parties aren’t always willing to cooperate. In this case the ebook title is also used as part of the url in the affiliate network.

Is there anything that can be done to handle urls with special characters?

I’ll get this on our bug tracker, but technically quotes should not be in URLs per convention. You can try encoding them like this though:
    https://www.blablablablabla.com/ebook_%27loving_it%27/buy

    Hi cartpauj,

Thanks for your reply and for considering this suggestion.

I know where you’re coming from. I’ve suggested the same thing to the product owner (to change it) and the affiliate network (to not allow special characters).

Thanks for your suggestion to work around the issue. I’ll give it a go!
