Single.php Single Post Template

Hi!

I’m having an issue with my single.php page. I followed the tutorial for creating a new post type over at think vitamin. I’m running a child theme. I’ve made a single-porfolio.php file and I’ve copied over the single.php code from the parent. A few questions that I’m having trouble figuring out how to deal with:

1) the single loop – I found nearly no documentation on this – any ideas on where to look for this information? Something less topical and more in-depth.

2) My template page is showing up wrong on my page. I can’t really think of anything that could be doing this? Ideas?

I’m not sure why the thing is rendering like that. I don’t know if I have to update the single loop file, or if I have to update something else or what the deal is. I’m just trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong, and where I can learn on how to do it right.
