singlepic broken and want update

i reverted back to the 1.73 version of NGG, and the singlepic works again…not a real solution, but until I can get an answer, it will have to do

@pweeks – There could be any number of reasons things are not working on your site from the current modified Twenty Ten theme you are using to a plugin conflict to the specific shortcode you are using to insert the SinglePic image.

As it is, without at least seeing the site using the current NextGEN Gallery version of the plugin there is not much we can really offer beyond standard troubleshooting tips.

heres an example shortcode that doesnt work with the latest NGG, but does work with 1.73
[singlepic id=79 w=300 float=right]

i “could” update to the latest NGG to show you what doesnt show, but I’d rather not have our website “gimped” while waiting for feedback (and we seem to be having a lot of traffic today..it’s a holiday for many)

with the latest NGG, as mentioned, instead of the actual picture showing up, the user seees a small icon indicating a picture…if you click the icon, the picture will load, but thats not the intent, the intent is as the site looks now.

oh…and that title is wrong for this topic…it’s not that i “want” an update, it’s that it “won’t” update…and meaning that whatever i tried in the admin panel, regenerate thumbnails, play with templates, etc…pictures will not show up, just the icon

@pweeks – When you have the opportunity to update next, what happens if you enter a new “default” SinglePic shortcode such as [singlepic id=79]

The current shortcode requires both the w and the h parameters be set and I believe not having the h set in your legacy codes is what may be causing the issue(s) you are seeing.

i’ve gone and updated to latest NGG…I had created a new page this morning prior to updating https://nedrink.org/ice-season/curling/learn-to-curl/ and added two singlepic entries and here is an example of the first one
[singlepic id=100 w=320 h=240 float=left]

it has both w and h and yet if you follow the link you’ll see the issue I originally described.

i also tried just [singlepic id=100] and same result

I’ll leave the plugin updated until I hear a reply, so you can see the issue

@pweeks – Thanks … I see the issue you are having. Can you try regenerating the thumbnails for your images on the site it appears you are using a non-default size (which generally is not a problem) but something may have caused these thumbnails to not be correctly registered within NextGEN Gallery.

@photocrati – “regenerate thumbnails” is that under “manage galleries -> bulk actions -> create new thumbnails” ?

@pweeks – Yes, you can create new thumbnails (aka regenerate) there, or you can specifically choose thumbnails within the galleries themselves.

In this case, I would recommend the bulk action from the location you are looking at as more efficient.
