• Running MU 3.1.1 with BuddyPress 1.2.8.

Super Admins can change Front Page Display.
When a regular admin changes it, it reverts to “– Select –” after it supposedly saves. The Posts Page will save.

There’s nothing in the error logs. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Josh

  • Any other plugins aside from BuddyPress running? Try shutting them all of (including mu-plugins, if it exists) and try again.

there is no MU version 3.1.1, unless you upgraded from MU? the last version of it was 2.9.2. It’s now multisite.

Did you try this on all sites?
    What theme are they running?

Then it’s WordPress 3.1.1 in multisite mode? What is the proper terminology for that?

We tried the stock theme and Suffusion. The only other plugin that had been running was the Suffusion BP plugin. In both cases, using an unedited version of the admin section.

We did not test the “main” blog. But we tested 3 others with the same results: I (as Super Admin) can change it, but normal Admin does not save.

    Thanks for the help.

    WordPress 3.1.1 Multisite ??

I’ll try to repro this on my testbed MultiSite.

But WPMU is so much simpler to type! ??

I have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling. But I had the same problem when I created another user and gave them a blog….

Hmmm… could part of it be that I created the user instead of the user signing up on their own?

One other detail: if an admin (not super admin) saves that page of settings, the front page display reverts to “–Select–” even if they did not change the option.

    Thanks for the help!

Try it with the default theme.

That was one of the first things I tried.

    Finally tested.

Works fine for me out of the box, running no plugins.

Was having the same exact issue (wordpress multisite 3.1.1 and buddypress 1.28). Switched to the default theme and no more problem. Back to my original theme and the problem returned. Tested with several other themes and they all worked fine as well. Definitely a theme issue. Thanks for the help!!
