• Hi all,

I wanted to update some plugins in my WordPress website. When I logged in into my website it seemed that I am not the one with permission to do that. I am only able to activate or deactivate the plugins, but not to add new, delete or update the plugins. Furthermore, I found out that I am not able to upgrade to the newest version of WordPress via this account.
So I added a new user and made it administrator. When I logged in with that account I still had the same issue. So this dit help any.

After I found out the above, I checked the FTP-data and saw that there are 3 profiles registered. I logged in with al these three accounts, but the same issue remains. It says that I should contact the Site administrator. But none of the three accounts that are registered seems to be.

Can anyone help me fix this?

    Thanks in advances!!

-“Site administrator” — is that possibly related specifically to your webhosting account?

-Have you looked at the data in the Users and Usermeta tables inside the database? You will be able to see exactly the Users with various capabilities to manage the WordPress dashboard areas. Often the database is inside of your webhosting account in an area called “PHPMYADMIN”. Maybe the User roles have been customized to restrict actions of various user types.

-Is the website possibly part of a multi-site network?
