Site description not showing up on Google

I have
https://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-generator/

and have none of these issues.

I too have a Google XML site map, but I still have these issues.

Can anybody help me?

What’s your setting at Options -> Privacy?

it’s set to “I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers”

Hello. I didn’t have this problem with my first site https://best-mangosteen-juice.com/blog/ using WP2.5. The site description appears fine on the brower.

However with my newly set up site https://savvyhomemaker2u.com/ using WP2.6 the description just wouldn’t appear. Only the site name appeared.

itissue, try creating a robots.txt file.. place it in the site root. in it copy and paste the following..

User-agent: *
Disallow:

This should tell the all the engines that all pages are accessible.. and should help your webmaster tools panel update. Once the bots start crawling your site your descriptions should hopefully appear as the bots index the content they should be formulating the descriptions or pulling from your head content.

once you upload the robots.txt file you probably want to resubmit your XML sitemap

The description shown in the Google search results is search query dependent. Also, without sufficient site content, Google may not show any description for your site. I see this most often on sites with almost nothing but ads.
