• I updated the funtions.php file and now can’t access my blog. I erased all the edits I made to that file, updated and still can’t access. I get an error code “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home6/sflatino/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php on line 511” when clicking on the page and I can’t even get to the login page now.

    Here’s the blog https://www.sflatinofilmfestival.com.

    open the twentyten themes folder and check the functions.php. the php closing tag might be wrong. just make sure it ends like this ?>

    first of all, don’t double post as it doesn’t help.

    Secondly, the advise given in your other post was right:

    Do you have a backup?

    If not, let this be a lesson in backups for the future!

    You could:

    1) Search for all instances of < and check to see there is only one.

    2) download a fresh copy of Twentyten from WP and just use the functions file to see if that fixes it.

    Charles, I added ?> to the end of the function file so the last few lines read

    endif;

    ?>

    but it still updates with the error message.

    PDD, I downloaded a fresh copy, updated and still cannot access. Site is still down.

    Since there is no error in functions.php now; what is the new error now?

    Same error message and I’m completely locked out from accessing any other tabs and login, so I’m not sure the changes went into effect.

    Yes, same error means you did not fix funcitons.php yet
