I needed to upgrade my php to 7.0 or 7.1 which I did and decided while I was at it I would like to change over my site to OceanWP which I have now installed. Unfortunately it’s not playing nicely together and I am hoping you can assist. It had 2 php errors displaying in the header section on updating to either version.

Initially I requested my host support assistance because the one error referred to one of their plugins and so I assumed it might have something to do with that. They investigated and this is what they came up with:
“In order to investigate it further, I have created a backup of the website’s database and stored it into the /home folder (****.sql), I temporarily deactivated all of the plugins of the website, and checked the website on PHP 7, however the errors were still there (despite all plugins being deactivated). So, I reverted the change, and then checked the theme – the active one was oceanwp so I temporarily changed it into the existing default WordPress theme twentyseventeen, and checked the website on PHP 7.0 and there were no errors – of course, the look of the website was not the same, so I reverted the change.

It appears that the specific theme is causing the issue.

I once again reviewed the server logs, but there were no records suggesting why the theme can not work on the PHP 7.0. ”

As this is a live site it has been reverted to previous version of PHP while waiting for some assistance.

Are you able to help me with this please?

Hello, what are the two errors? Because I tried PHP 7.0, 7.1 and I am actually on PHP 7.2, there are no problems.

It is live now with the errors which for security reasons I am not sure I should post in a public forum should I?

One is …./load.php on line 63

The first part of the errors are:
Warning: array_merge(): Argument #2 is not an array in
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at…

The other is on line 344 which I know is meaningless so are you able to have a look now?

If there is sensitive data, can you open a pre-purchase ticket and send me the full error? Otherwise, it will be very hard to help.

I have managed to resolve this issue. It had nothing to do with OceanWP in that the error occurred for 3 different templates I tried in an effort to troubleshoot this.

I renamed the php.ini file to php.ini.BK as per this article by mrwweb.com and it resolved the issue. Now I can get on with using OceanWP!

    Glad to hear that ??
