• ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

also running 2013 theme – on a self hosted site using WP.org – Saturday 12/19 I was able to add photos and media content and preview the post I was writing – I did not finish the post, but decided to finish the post on Sunday 12/20. I added the content – text – and an additional photo and attempted to preview or save draft. WP froze and gave me the blank screen with the ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE NO DATA SENT message. Within two to three minutes the site restored but content was not added. I called my hosting provider – they trouble shot my issues and claimed it was malware installed in the webroot folder – a php file centerindolences.php and another suspicious php – after several attempts – I was able to load a content (text) only post but if I tried to add media – the same issue would reoccur. I was able to add two media files via my WP App on my iPhone. I have not tried it today. Here is the post link:

    Thank you for your help.

Saturday mid morning 9-10 CST- fine
Sunday – mid morning until early afternoon – 11 – 3 CST issues with uploads
Monday – mid morning 8.40 CST fine?

Go figure…. still need advice, I fear this issue will re-appear

    Thank you for your help.

Help – see above posts – back to where I was Sunday morning. Have text in new post – but when I add a photo, embed a you tube video, or add a hyperlink – ‘SAVE DRAFT’ and ‘PREVIEW’ buttons ‘fade’ and do not respond. When the media is removed the buttons work. I can post text only, but without media. AM I missing a setting?

and at 8.52 CST it works – or does it? will find out in the morning to see if my scheduled post goes through.

I had similar problems and it turned out to be a problem with the Apache web server objecting to too many pictures with absolute URLs (ie https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/picture.png) which was fixed by changing them to relative URLs (ie /wp-content/uploads/picture.png). You can make sure relative addresses are used for new posts by changing “full URL path to files” in settings/Media to /wp-content/uploads if you are running wordpress with the default directory structure.
