At first I thought I may have some weird shared hosting issue again causing this. But when I saw this thread opened elsewhere – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/site-health-results-are-still-loading/

I realized then I was not the only one having this issue. Up until Jetpack 8.5, which I believe was Jetpack 8.4.1 or something like that, I was running fine with Site Health Stats and only experiencing an issue that was related to my shared hosting and not a problem for me.

Now in the site health stats, with Jetpack active in 8.5, the site health stats page just says “Results are still loading.” If Jetpack is disconnected and not active, the site health runs fine. If connected, it hangs with that message. Other users are reporting this.

No other changes have been made on my site in the past three days since this started and it started immediately after downloading Jetpack 8.5.

I am unsure if this is related to something with shared hosting or not with caching issues or something else… but again this worked in the previous version of Jetpack, as other users in the other thread are reporting.

  • Maybe I can summarise in here what I said in the other thread.

With the latest Jetpack 8.5, Site Health works for me, until I enable memcache in the Siteground Optimizer plugin. (I’m on their GoGeek shared package)

But because I actually need memcache and Jetpack more than a widget that tells me what I already know, ie how to keep a WP site healthy, I have just removed the Site Health widget from my dashboard.

For me, a non WordPress programming type of guy who really just knows how to point and click, I simply know that having jetpack 8.5 active creates this problem and having it not active allows site health to work and that the prior version of jetpack active did not have this issue. Whatever memcache and site optimizer are and do I have no idea and probably would not understand even if you explained it to me. I just know I love Jetpack and need it and sometimes a new version causes issues on my setup for whatever reason behind the scenes. It’s clear to me it’s related to the new version since a number of others have reported it on that other thread. What is going on behind the scenes in Jetpack’s programming that causes this for us I’m not sure. I at least know it’s not Godaddy since the one guy is using Bluehost and you are using another platform. As often my Jetpack issues are told it’s a Godaddy thing.
Hopefully they can easily correct this issue in the next release since for now this renders Site Health useless if we keep Jetpack active and don’t use other plugins to correct whatever this is or isnt.

It’s a Jetpack issue and looks like it will be fixed in the next release.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Hi everyone! The problem is indeed caused by Jetpack, sorry about that! We’ll fix this issue in the next version of Jetpack. You can follow our progress on this here:
    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/15725

Until this problem is fixed in Jetpack, and if you need to access all tests again, I would recommend installing the following plugin and using it to disable Jetpack tests:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/site-health-tool-manager/

    Sorry again for the trouble!
