site is not loading

  • Hello

    My wordpress site is not loading. I cant even login to the Admin part. My site is https://www.asufin.org.

    I just installed multi-site user registration plugin and as soon as I activated the plugin, my site went down.

    Really need help.

  • Hello,

    A quick solution, deactivating this plugin by FTP.
    You will need an FTP client like filezilla (beware, though, if you allow filezilla to remember your password, this program stores the passwords in plain text in a sites.xml file within one of the hidden folders of your username’s personal folder on your disk, this is a security risk, this file is easy to steal).

    You can get from your hosting company the details on how to log in to your blog by FTP.

    And once in there, go to the blog’s root folder, subfolder wp-content, subfolder plugins, and there, simply rename the multi-site plugin (for instance, adding an underscore in the beginning of the folder’s name).

    That will make wordpress automatically deactivate the plugin. Your blog should work after this.
