• During the past week I activated an incompatible theme with word press, arras. I soon as I activated it my wordpress went blank and everytime I went back to my site it gave the message

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Arras_Widget_Tag_Cloud::WP_Widget_Tag_Cloud() 404

I was told that deleting the arras theme via ftp would revert the site back to twentyten, but after doing so the site just went blank saying cannot find server.

I have tried everything from renaming folders on ftp, uploading new themes, twentyten, twentyeleven, and the arras theme again. Nothing works.

Someone suggested I activate another theme via the site database, I don’t know what that is and how to edit it.

    Can anyone help?

  • Wow, sounds like WP exploded on you! ?? Or at least the theme did. You did what a lot of us would have done – delete the layout. That’s weird however that your site didn’t revert back to Twenty Eleven/Ten. You’ve caught my attention…

Reading through what you’ve done here are my thoughts:

    1) Did you turn the folder names back to their previous state from you renaming them? (WP runs on strict folder management and messing the core folders up can cause major issues, including your problems! ?? )
    2) Unless you can help it – keep Arras deleted/gone.
    3) I’m not sure how to activate a theme via the site database, however, I can tell you, your site database is what holds all of your WordPress posts, pages, categories, tags, images, etc. Anything that is inside your WordPress is stored in a database! ??

Maybe you’ll get someone with a bit more Database knowledge to help you! I hope you figure it out!!

    Keeping my fingers crossed
    Megan
