so i had the old UA analytics set up on my WP site, but can’t even remember where did i enter the ID to collect data, so should i just install the Site Kit plugin and enter the new ID or look for the old ID box also from somewhere and delete that ID+the plugin itself first?

i also have a static page in another folder, so i can probably replace that script with a new one and see if that gives any new hits?

and is there a way to see all of the old data from somewhere? (i did have the WP statistics plugin installed also tho)

Hi @jimmysix thank you for opening a support topic with us. When you install the Site Kit plugin, you can set up and connect your Analytics with an existing GA4 property or create a new property as part of the setup.

With regards to your old UA property, you can choose to find and remove this but this property will no longer be recording data for your site so the choice is yours. Site Kit will only allow you to place a GA4 property. For more information you can check our Managing Analytics guide.

If you wish to see your UA property data, you can still do this from your Analytics account. You are unable to view this data from Site Kit and I am unable to suggest any other plugin that may give you this data.

I hope this answers your questions but if you need any further help, let me know.

ok, but is there any place where i could read about all of the options on this Setup Assistant thing to know which options should i choose to make it start working?

i think that its probably not working until i go through all of the settings first…

@jimmysix Thank you for your follow up. To get up and running with Google Analytics 4, you just need to connect Analytics within Site Kit and the plugin will place the necessary code for you with nothing else for you to do.

As shared above, the Managing Analytics guide, specifically the setup section will explain how to set up Analytics in Site Kit. You can only connect Analytics 4 properties as part of the setup.

I hope this answers your question. Happy to help further if you have any other questions on this.
