Site Kit is working just fine and has helped me a lot but ever since I installed it my lighthouse performance has been dropping. My blog doesn’t run ads yet but Google/double click ads causing 1322ms blocking. Google analytics 79 ms. What should I do? How to disable google ads from site kit and if I enable it again for placing ads would it start blocking again? I’m non techie so please suggest a way that doesn’t involve coding/

Thanks for getting in touch, hopefully I can assist. When you activate Google services, whether through Site Kit or manually by placing your own snippets there are additional requests make to these services. This is the same for third party Analytics or advertising services.

Site Kit itself doesn’t add any performance impacting code to your site, with just a metatag inserted to your front end, it’s an admin panel operated plugin. It facilitates the addition of the Google services snippets.

What should I do? How to disable google ads from site kit and if I enable it again for placing ads would it start blocking again?

You can disconnect the AdSense module if you wish and then implement Auto ads manually to compare the difference, the performance when added manually or via Site Kit shouldn’t differ. With AdSense or any other ad network active it will require some additional network requests.

You can check this guide in relation to AdSense Network ad performance. As your using ads on a WordPress site have you also considered using AMP, with AMP ads performing better than non AMP ads?

Thanks for the information. Its a new blog and i didn’t even apply for Adsense yet, so disconnecting it from site kit won’t harm at least for now. Thanks for pointing me to these resources, i would check and see what can i do.
Thank you so much for your help.
An update, instead of removing adsense from site kit i simply disabled the snippet.

No problem, thanks for the update. And yes, if you’re not planning on using ads just yet I would also recommend disconnecting the AdSense module.

Be sure to get in touch if you have any further queries, and thanks for using Site Kit.

Thank you once again, and yes i tried disabling it but that caused my web story to get not validated for AMP somehow ?? so i reconnected Adsense.
    Thanks again
