Since updating to all latest plugins and WordPress, I have this error when I log into WordPress dashboard:

Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘syncGoogleTagSettings’)
    in DashboardEntryPoint

    in RestoreSnapshots

    in ErrorHandler

    in ThemeProvider

    in StrictMode

    in Root

Identical setup on staging site doesnt have the same problem

    Thanks for reaching out @murphaloid.

So we can determine more on this, and ensure Site Kit works as expected without error, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window does the same occur? If so, please share any browser console errors that appear.?

Once we have the above we can investigate this further and provide some troubleshooting suggestions which may include ruling out third party plugin conflicts or reinstalling the plugin once more after uninstalling first.

I submitted a private form with more info – but I’ve just found that this problem doesn’t occur in Google Chrome incognito.

Now Ive just figured out it was being caused by my Ad Blocker!

    Thanks anyway

Nice troubleshooting @murphaloid. Thanks for the update. I’m happy to test this more if you’d also like to share what browser you were using and the Ad Blocker in question. This may prove useful should other users encounter the same.

    Sure thing James:

    Chrome Version 111.0.5563.110

    Adblock Unlimited v1.0.2

    Thanks again!

Excellent, thanks for sharing. If you run into any further errors be sure to let us know. Ad Blockers can indeed impact reporting, but I will test the same out and see if there is a configuration that can be applied, or a workaround to ensure you can view the Site Kit dashboard without error.

Thanks for your patience while I tested this. I was able to recreate the same error with the same extension. While this may be expected given how some Ad Blockers function, I will bring this up with the team.

In the meantime what you can do is disable the Ad Blocker for your domain name. From my checks it looks like the plugin remembers the setting across a domain after disabling.

Let me know if that suits, or if you have any further questions on this.

That’s great James, I disabled it and its fine. May try a different ad blocker.

    Really appreciate your help, cheers.
