Site kit not connecting to correct site

Sorry to hear you’ve been unable to connect to your preferred Analytics profile. I’m guessing you’ve successfully setup Site Kit but when connecting Analytics it automatically recognizes another snippet which you associated with another site? If so can you share the message you see and I’d be happy to assist. If not please share more details and we can hopefully ensure you get connected successfully.

Is there a solution to this issue? Also, does it cause an issue if my site is still under construction?

Providing your site is accessible and available online, with all the standard WordPress hooks then Site Kit should setup successfully. Some coming soon or maintenance mode type plugins won’t allow Site Kit to proceed.

Let me know more of the above anyway and we can troubleshoot this further.

currently, I have the coming soon page set up via my hosting provider. But when I set up the site kit i have a standard request to connect the site kit and when I connect it to the correct Google account I am redirected to my 1st website’s analytics and their page. I have tried to reset the site kit but still, end up connecting back to the 1st analytics code and not the new one.

I will go back to make sure I don’t have any snippet of the 1st analytics and try again.

If you want to share your Site Health information via this form I’d be happy to check your current setup. If using a hosting provide such as Bluehost and their maintenance mode feature this is incompatible with Site Kit setup, so please be sure to include your current hosting provider.

In relation to being redirected back to your 1st websites Analytics can you share what is the URL you are redirected back to? I suspect it’s just a case of making your site live before connecting Site Kit. The plugin uses Search Console to verify your site, so you’re site must be accessible without any such coming soon feature in order to successfully connect.

When I’m redirected I’m sent to the standard Google login to connect my account. Once it’s connected it sends me back to my original website https://reviewsandsavingspal.com/ and its analytics. I think at this point I’ll just keep the site kit disabled until I launch my site.
