Does anyone have the same problem with Google Site Kit WP plugin? Site Kit stopped showing USER traffic in the graph on the dashboard. I checked and my Search Console and Analytics is showing ongoing activity for my domain.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

  • I have exactly the same issue.
Cloudways hosting, PHP 8.2, WP 6.4.3, Woo 8.5.2. – It stopped working in all my sites.

Just to add, that in my case not even the settings page is loading, so I do not even have the option to “reset” the installation

@dimitrisv Thanks for sharing the information. I can see from your Site Health that you have a large number of plugins active on your site. Could you please try following our troubleshooting steps here and let me know if the issue clears while in troubleshooting mode with just Site Kit active?

It’s likely that this is due to a plugin conflict if there is an issue and this should help to find one if there is one here.

@jspong Thank you for sharing the information it’s appreciated. Firstly could I check with you if you are seeing data in your Analytics account but not in the Site Kit dashboard is that correct?

Could you please try our troubleshooting steps?here?and let me know if the issue clears while in troubleshooting mode with just Site Kit active?

I can also see that you are using Cloudflare with your site. Have you tried temporarily disabling Cloudflare to see if the issue persists?

Any screenshots or recordings would also be useful if you could provide them. Let me know if you have any questions on the information above.

    Hi Adam

It turns out that Google Analytics is not reporting traffic at all. I tried a while back to do the migration/update from Universal to G4 and it looks like the configuration is not completed. Below is the message in Analytics at the top of the page for domain: chartrandlaw.ca:

If you haven’t completed migration, finish setting up your Google Analytics 4 property before your connected Universal Analytics property is permanently deleted on Jul 1, 2024. To maintain access to data from this property, you should download your data now.

I was able to go further with help from the Google info and I found the following:

Your Google tag wasn’t detected on your website.

So this is the problem why there is no reporting in Site Kit and Analytics. I am not sure what I am doing about adding the tag to my WordPress website. Any thoughts??

    UPDATE::::

I managed to get the Google Analytics tag installed on every page for chartrandlaw.ca. I used the WPCode WordPress plugin and put the code in the body box instead of the header. The instructions at GA told me to put the tag code just after the </head> end tag. So I put copied the code, then went to “Code Snippets” then “Header & Footer” and pasted the code in the box for BODY.

I then went into the “Manual Setup” for Google Analytics and hit the TEST button for https://chartrandlaw.ca and it passed ok.

So now I got the GA tag installed within the WordPress site and Site Kit should start reporting traffic/users…. right??

@jspong Thank you for all of your updates. I have checked your site on https://tagassistant.google.com/ and I can see that there is an Analytics tag being picked up. If this is the Analytics property that you have connected in Site Kit then any data for that property will be displayed in your Site Kit Dashboard that is correct.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you but, this is probably because we are using Pixel Your Site Pro as well.

The thing is that right now I am getting this lovely empty screen in both options of the sitekit!!!

@dimitrisv Thank you for sharing this recording it’s very helpful. While we investigate this further, you should still be able to perform a Site Kit reset by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. Could you please try the reset from here and let me know if this helps in any way?

Thank you! This one did the trick!
