    Hi Folks,

While in the process of helping a site through a rebrand, Google Site Kit has somehow become connected/authorized on the dev site rather than the live site. The plugin will not show Google stats or data in the WordPress Dashboard in either the live or dev site.

Screenshot of error message in WordPress Dashboard: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDuR6e6E

And when I try to walk through the process to redo the plugin setup to correct the problem, I run into the issues as set out in the following screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/mXuKBzGz

I confess this absolutely likely to be caused by my own user error, but I wonder if you can help me de-couple the Site Kit plugin from the dev site URL and reconnect and authorize it on the live site URL.

I note that Google Analytics still tracking data on the live site.

Thanks in advance for whatever help you can share.

  • Hello @liamdempsey ,

When you are migrating site from staging to production, its best practice to reset Site Kit before setting up Site Kit.

You can reset Site Kit by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. Please see screenshot here. Please try to setup Site Kit once more & let us know if you are facing any issue. I hope you’ll start seeing stats based on the visits at your website once you connected modules.
