  • Hi there,
    what impact does the setting of the site language have?

    I want to have an English website with translation to German. Do I need to set the site language to English because of that? If I do so the language in the WordPress interface changes to English as well. My preference would be to be able to work with a German WordPress interface. But I don’t want this to have a negative impact on my website. Like I said I want to have the website set up in English.

    This is only for the WordPress administrative interface. Properly internationalized themes and plugins may also use this setting to display certain text (eg names of the days of the week) in the appropriate language in your site.

    It has nothing to do with the actual content you publish on your site.
