Site Loading

  • Hello All,
    I’m in the midst of developing a new website at work but I’m having some trouble with loading speeds. I’m beginning to suspect it is the host server as opposed to the site itself. I’m able to get an 86/100 performance grade on Pingdom but am still experiencing load times of 5 seconds plus for a page that is only 523 KB.     The old website is still on the same shared server (and will be until the new site is ready to go live). I just want to make sure that is the issue and not something else! 64% of the load time is spent in the “wait” state which seems long! Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone!
