• When it doesn’t time out, my site is taking as long as a minute to load pages, all and immediately since upgrading to WP3.5. I even had to disable widgets to get the stats to show up at all.

Is there something I can do to correct this? If not, can I roll back to the previous version of WP (and, if so, how)?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I’ve tried 1 and 3 and performance hasn’t improved. I really like my theme, so wouldn’t want to switch from it even if it is the problem.

As for point four, I am not really sure how to do that.

Is there an easy way to uninstall 3.5? Judging by other posts on the forum, it seems as if this release has a lot of issues. I think it would best to rollback, however, all of the guides online involve very technical processes.

@william Juliano: really has nothing to do with 3.5. Who is the web host? Ask them if they are having problems.

Temporarily switch themes to see if that helps.
