Site locking up when plugin installed

I have uploaded and installed the plugin as instructed, but it then locks the website up and I cannot even use the CMS properly. Can’t open pages for editing. If I log out of wordpress the login screen does not even appear when I try to login. Had to remove plugin by FTP and everything works again. Any suggestions?
