I noticed when I added my website url in an email that I was sending had an old image logo this is on my iphone email.

It doesn’t add the logo image when using laptop email.

I made sure correct image was in the settings on SEO.

It should be what you see when you open my website the logo that says Nancy Dru Genalogy, Gardening and Good Food.

Instead it shows the magnifying glass with Nancydrugenealogy in the magnifying glass and to the right Taking the mystery out of your genealogy.

Why is it pulling the wrong logo?

    What am I doing wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi again, Nancy!

Different email clients fetch the image using various methods. Some scan the webpage and use the first image, others rely on oEmbed, structured data, Open Graph, or Twitter Card, and most do nothing at all and paste the URL plainly. The email recipient may also not see the same as you do.

What email clients are you using on your phone and laptop? I can then try to mimic this behavior and look for a solution.

    Hallo Sybre,

Thank-you for responding and I realized I only had half my image in the SEO settings. I saw the note: The image placeholder is fetched from the Page SEO Settings on the homepage.

So I went to the homepage settings and went through all the tabs and the settings again and found where I needed to add the new image.

I cleared the cache and my browser and then went to my phone and pulled my website off my phone and pasted it in an email and it looks great!

Thank-you for taking the time to respond when you probably already knew it was operator error in the settings.

    Best Wishes,

    Nancy

    Hi Nancy,

You got me. I indeed listed all the methods as a hint to verify your settings ??, but I was also curious about the inconsistent behavior of the email clients (I’m assuming they’re Apple’s Mail apps). But I can figure that out on my own time :).

I’m glad the issue’s resolved. Have a lovely day!

    Hi Sybre,

Yes, I use gmail and comcast (Xfinity) on my iphone. When using iphone my image pops in the email.

When using gmail and comcast same accounts on my laptop both do not pull my logo image. It pulls this, which I believe is what I set up in SEO.

Looking at what I sent to see if it appears differently in gmail when opening on Iphone. It is the same as I sent it.

So why does iphone pull the image for gmail and comcast , but not on laptop gmail or comcast. Is there a SEO setting I am missing for computers? Is is a browser setting or email settings in the programs?

Also, if these settings are specific does that mean even though my logo image pulls up when I paste my web address, not everyone will see it, but will see my link?

Thank-you for all your help and I hope you are having nicer weather than I am. Here the heat index is 43C and it will be this way for the next 10 days at least that is what it reports on my weather app on my phone.

    Best Wishes,

    Nancy
