Site migration

  • Hello everyone.

    My question is this : if i want to copy a site that is located on a certain domain to another domain i created for this site with cPanel (an addon domain), it’s called migration? Can you provide me a link for this?

    If you migrate from one server with cPanel to another with cPanel, process should be quite straightforward.

    Yes, it’s called migration (mydomain.com to mynewdomain.com)

    There is a full tutorial on wordpress codex for that operation, but if you have to do it manually:

    1) copy / erase wordpress database with the new one
    2) check wp-config.php and modify it to new url / databse rights
    3) make sure all is ok by theme url or stuff called in theme

    That is the rough process. Very rough.
