I have two WP sites that I am migrating to Siteground. One of them was moved successfully by the team at Siteground, though not without a few issues that were technically over my head (too complicated for me to understand).

For my other site, I tried the WordPress Automigrator that is offered by Siteground. This started up, but the progress bar never started moving, just a spinning ball for a couple of hours. I tried stopping and restarting several times, but no success. I can see some WP files inside my Siteground File Manager, but if I try to go to the WP control panel it just sends me to the old panel on 1&1/Ionos.

I was told by Siteground to try the Duplicator plugin, but it got errors while creating the packet and I don’t know how to fix those.

I have given up on the Automigrator and Duplicator, and have paid the $30 USD to have Siteground tech support migrate the second site for me.

Has anyone else had this experience?

The support people at Siteground installed a plugin called All-In-One WP Migration on my site.

You might need to pay Siteground (or whoever is your new hosting provider) to do a manual migration of your site.

For our site, it was worth the fee to have their help.
