Site name duplicating?

  • So, I’ve been tweaking my blog and have finally gotten it how I want it. But something somewhere goofed it up. I’m not sure if I can post my site name in here or not, but it’s https://www.ibebloggen.com/

    When my page pulls up it looks fine and normal, but if you click on any title to view just that specific post, like I do when I’m sharing it and linking it you can see the problem.

    Up in the title bar, I see:
    the name of my post | the name of my site the name of my site

    I used to see:
    the name of my post | the name of my site

    I’ve checked the general settings to make sure my url is entered correctly and is not duplicated. I’ve disabled the plugin I last installed to see if that was somehow conflicting. Any ideas??

  • What I see is not quite what you describe:

    On your home page I see:

    blog title | blog description | blog description

    On your single post pages I see:

    post title | | blog title blog title

    I think I’d start off by checking the <title> element code out in your theme’s header.php file.

    Oh geez, you’re right – I missed that part.

    Okay, so the theme I’m using doesn’t have a header.php file I can get to, so I thought I’d just chuck it and try a new theme to see if the problem follows. It does. So, that probably means it has something to do with one of the two plugins I’ve installed? I’m using WordPress SEO and Sexybookmarks. Any experience with either of them doing this maybe?

    I’ve no experience with either, I’m afraid; but what I’d do is to deactivate all my plugins and then reactivate them one-by-one until I’d found the culprit.

    It sounds like your WordPress SEO plugin is not configured correctly. Under the plugin, you have to configure the name templates for your “homepage” and other pages. This will fix your problem.

    yep, it was totally the wordpress plugin – forgot to check a box, gah! thank you so much ??
