    Hi there,

For a client website, the ‘site name’ does not display correctly in the organic SERP.

The company name is “&deBlauw“, but is shown in the SERP as ‘deBlauw‘. I entered the correct company name in Yoast -> settings -> site base and site representation.

Any idea why the company name is not showing correctly / solution?

    Thanks.

    Hi @spierbouwers,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I understand that the company name is not showing correctly in SERP.

Can you please check whether the company name is showing correctly if you check the source code of the page showing in SERP?

If it’s correct, it can take some time for Google to index the changes you made, depending on how often they crawl your site. So, we’ll have to wait for Google to crawl your site again. Sometimes you can speed up this process as described in this article:?How to update information in Google search results

    Hi Rohan,

In the source code the site name is being showed as:

    <meta property=”og:site_name” content=”&amp;deBlauw” />

Can you confirm this is ok?

For example the page title is also being showed as “&amp;deBlauw” in the source code, but in the SERP it’s showed correctly: “&deBlauw“.

I recommend that you run the URL through?Rich Results Test to confirm you have the correct name. If yes, the problem isn’t with Yoast SEO or WordPress; also, doing everything correctly is not a foolproof guarantee. You may consider posting a question in the?Google Search Central Help Community?for further assistance.

    Hi there,

In the rich results test it is also being showed as: ”&amp;deBlauw” in stead of just “&deBlauw“.

As you can see it ads “amp;” in the source code of the site name.

Can I assume that it’s not ok to use the “& symbol” in the site name field in Yoast? It looks like this symbol is being ignorned in the SERP.

    Thanks.

Hello @spierbouwers, is this the URL of the company?

Here’s a screenshot of the rich results test tool where the site name shows correctly: "name":"&deBlauw"

So, there isn’t a problem with Yoast SEO or WordPress; doing everything correctly is not a foolproof guarantee. I recommend posting a question in the?Google Search Central Help Community?for further assistance.
