• When i try to open https://soccerisma.com/ a download.gz file is downloaded…The site does not load at all, unless I log in first.

    Users have told that at times the site is not loading and I can see the difference in traffic as well that majority of the people are unable to access the site.

    I see that this was an issue with an older version of WP Super Cache as well but I could not find a way to resolve this so had to uninstall the plugin. Please help me out, the site gets decent amount of traffic and the load will be very high without the plugin.

  • I had the same result on 1.5.1. Back on 1.4.9 for the time being. That version has some problems but at least it works. FYI I’m running PPH 7.1.6 & core 4.8 on that site in https mode.

    To keep everything in perspective here Super Cache is a free plugin. It can be a big problem when a number of issues hit a plugin all at once but there are so many variables.

    Version 1.5.1 is working on other sites that are on PHP 5.6.3 and Core 4.8 with https so it is not an easy task to get it right.

    I know there was a fix for PHP 7.1 in 1.4.9

    I have exactly same problem with 1.5.3

    I had to uninstall the plugin but I would love continue using him…

    Is there any fix for this please?

    I have found this in my website footer code source:

    <!-- Compression = gzip --><div id="window-resizer-tooltip" style="display: none;"><a href="#" title="Edit settings"></a><span class="tooltipTitle">Window size: </span><span class="tooltipWidth" id="winWidth">1920</span> x <span class="tooltipHeight" id="winHeight">1040</span><br><span class="tooltipTitle">Viewport size: </span><span class="tooltipWidth" id="vpWidth">1920</span> x <span class="tooltipHeight" id="vpHeight">604</span></div></body></html>

    I’m having same issue. It has happened about 3 times on different websites I manage over the past months. It happens out of the blue. I fix it by deleting the WP Super Cache code in htaccess file, then reset the mod_rewrite in the admin. Scares the hell out of users thinking its malware.
