site not showing wordpress blog dashboard at set up

moved domain name from go daddy after someone else had started set up there………… downloaded wordpress at new hosting of site but do not see the wordpress dashboard when i go to domain/wp-admin… see left over junk instead……….how do i get rid of old and see the WP dashboard so I can begin working on site???
