site not working since update

  • The new version of wordpress was a few nights ago. Since then, zero functionality on my home page is working. The blog posts which I had as the feature well rotate and the content appears, but you cannot link to the posts. You can also not use the navigation links to the sub pages. Nothing works from the front page. I have a custom theme, so I thought I might need to update the theme. I did, and all that accomplished is that now there is no functionality and all but the most recent post is not showing up. Please help. I have searched the message boards and don’t see that this is a common problem, so I am stumped.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I did deactivate the plugins and switched to twenty eleven. When I did that I noticed that what seems to be happening is the links on the blog Two Soups and Cold Beans is linking to another site I use for work Found Feather. It did not previously do this. They are separate. Any advice on how to disentangle them?

    I think the foundfeather site is what is messing everything up. I messed something up in the settings area (name) trying to fix the two sites so they are separate. I read a forum post on changing it back, but I can’t get it to work. I wonder if just deleting the found feather content (I was going to redo it anyway) would fix everything. The problem is I now cannot get into its control panel. Sigh.

    Did you change the urls in Settings -> General? If so, see Changing_The_Site_URL.
