Site restoration – now variable products dont work

Hello
my site was down as of yesterday. after contacting my hosting service they have reinstated a backup of the site.

However, since doing so it appears that some of my settings have defaulted and no longer working. It is an e-commerce site and is no longer allowing variable products to be added to the cart. i am receiving an error message that says “Please choose product options…” i have no idea how to fix this.

Has anyone experienced this and can help me please.
