• Hi,
    I’ve installed wordpress 3.1.1 from bluehost.com cpanel.
My site is loading slowly and when posting news it takes hours to do that..
I’ve contacted bluehost support and they told me it’s ok with other sites running on that share server. Only mine is taking hours to load..
Could you help me about this issue?
    Thanks

  • Disable all of your plugins and see if that helps.

I’ve installed only 2 NEW plugins (gtranslate and Jetpack by WordPress.com). The other plugins are needed for the template to work correctly. I’ve disable all of them and don’t see any improvement..

Do you have other sites on your account? Other sites may be causing slowness to this site as well.

Try switching your theme to twentyten and disable all your plugins. Test slowness on the site itself and slowness in the dashboard separately.

Try switching your theme to the default twentyten. Does that load quickly?

You may be too big for a Shared Server and it may be time to upgrade to a VPS. Do some diagnostics on your traffic. How many hits a day etc are you getting?

And by the way, we know EXACTLY how painful turning off ALL plugins is, but that is the ONLY way to tell if they’re being dim wits. All means all :/

I’m using this template the RedCarpet theme with default settings (https://deluxethemes.com/redcarpet/). If this theme is loading fast on deluxethemes.com that would load fast on bluehost too.. I don’t think there is a problem with the default plugins of that theme.
I’ve for about 1500 unique visitors per day.
I’ll try to switch theme to the default one.. and let you know.
Thanks to all for replaying ??

Maybe it’s better to paste my site url so you can see the difference too..
    It’s https://www.femina.al

No, not necessarily. They both aren’t on the same exact server.

No, not necessarily. They both aren’t on the same exact server.

I understand that but the idea was about plugins. I don’t have any additional plugin installed. There are only the default plugins of template. Now I’ve switched to the default wordpress theme.. and I think that it’s the same speed..
When posting news, clicking on new post.. it takes hours to reload the page.. Dunno what to do..

Same reasoning applies, actually, and it’s more about shared hosting and the usage of the site.

Just because you have two sites on the same host, as a NON-random example, doesn’t mean you’re going to be on the same server. You could have neighbors who are sucking down more CPU/bandwidth. OR you could be being throttled by BlueHost (who really should TELL you…)

That said, since you tried with no plugins and it’s the same result, I would either try ADDING a caching plugin (yeah, I know) or upping your server to VPS. Hey, I had to do it when I hit 1000+ a day otherwise I crashed my host!

Okay guys, thanks to all for replaying.. dunno what to do anymore.. will stay in touch with bluehost.
    Thanks again

Your site gets a YSLOW grade of C, and did not take “hours” to load for me.

I don’t have any additional plugin installed. There are only the default plugins of template.

Only the default plguins for the template is not no plugins. ??

I’ve contacted with bluehost and they told me there is a problem out there.. so now I guess it’s solved cuz the site isn’t slow anymore..

I would suspect that when your site gets a traffic uptick again, you will once more experience slowness.

Consider a caching plugin, a VPS, and start monitoring your traffic as closely as possible. Understand when and where your slowdowns happen. That’ll help you learn why.

Which caching plugin would you prefer bro? I’m new in wordpress and I need your opinions guys.. thanks
