Site running super-slow

  • Hi there

    I manage the website for https://www.blackcountrypokerclub.org/home/ and it is running super-slow – 10 minutes or more for me and others to open each page. I have been in touch with the hosting company and they can’t find any problem at their end. I have tried in Firefox and Windows Explorer with no luck.

    Can you help?

    Please note I am not that techy so any support you could give would be very much appreciated.

    Note that I have been unable to update to v4.4 – when I try to go to that page it doesn’t load at all. There are also 5 theme updates outstanding.

    Just to add to this, the site was running perfectly until around 29 December, so it’s obviously something reasonably fundamental which has gone wrong.

    I really, really hope someone posts some help. I’m having a similar problem with extreme load times from my wordpress dashboard and like you I’m not very techy.

    Now fixed. Disabled the plugin WordPress Auto Backup and it then worked fine.
