Site Slow Loading

  • Disclaimer: I am an old lady

    Problem: My site loads in 13.44 sec. It’s been slow for sometime. I deleted many images. Removed pages. Complained to hosting company. I need simple ways to speed this up. Empty caches? I’ve been thinking of moving to squarespace and starting over. So, assume I am an idiot and advise me accordingly. Thanks!

    It takes over 3 seconds for your site to send its first byte of information. This is likely a hosting problem (slow host, overloaded server, etc.). You *may* be able to improve things a bit by using caching. You’re currently using W3 Total Cache, but have caching disabled on SSL connections. You need to fix that option.

    I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/w3-total-cache#new-post so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    Thank you, Steven. I definitely plan to ditch my host in 2019. Too many problems. I”d like to find one friendlier to WordPress.
