Site stats mystery!
-
Hi hi,
So I’ve got a bit of a mystery happening. Currently I have exceeded my site’s bandwidth because of the amount of visitors coming to my site.
My cpanel Awstats says that in May, my site’s unique visiors was 96,513. For June, it’s 86,067.
However, my site stats (through Jetpack) are NOWHERE near this high. In June, it’s about 1-1500, for the past 6 days. For May, it’d be around 7-8,000.
I find those Awstats (and webalizer, analog) figures to be very high. My hosting provider has confirmed that the figures are unique visits. One of the articles has had over 80,000 views (and over 50,000 Facebook likes – how the hell is that possible?!?!).
I’ve gone through 100GB of my monthly bandwidth in just 6 days for June.
What’s the reason for this massive difference? Bots/attacks/whatever else?
I can’t find anything on the web about this, or on wordpress forums (because the search function seems to not work for me, both Firefox and Chrome)
Thanks for your help!!!
