Site Super Slow after updating to woocommerce 2

Hi everyone, i have a problem that has been ongoing since updating to woocomm 2.2 and wp 4.0.
The issue is that the site runs super slow both back and front end. Two mega long wait times on admin-ajax.php of close to ten seconds on most loads, plus sometimes a long wait on initial page load.
Done a LOT of trouble shooting and no solutions yet. But, I am 100% sure that its a woocommerce issue. Eg. With all themes issue persists, all plugins deactivated (except woocomm) issue persists, have replaced wp core a few times, tried multiple hosts, and more. I even rolled back to an earlier version of woocommerce just to be 100% sure this was the issue and yup the problem went away, then I upgraded to latest version and boom, site slows to a crawl again.
Does anyone have any insights, solutions or similar issues?
Woocommerce support is looking into but not getting anywhere fast.
