    Hi there,

I recently cloned my live website to a development environment to perform some updates and testing. My developer installed the YOAST plugin to improve our site’s SSL a bit.

However, I recently noticed that there is a change to my site’s title. You can see the difference from my live site and my dev site here:

My live website is the left tab, while my dev site is the right.

We are trying to troubleshoot the cause of this change. Is there a setting within YOAST that controls the titling of the site? If so, how can it be customized and adjusted?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

You may need to go to SEO-Titles and Metas-Post Types and scroll down to where it says Custom Post Type Archive->Product and then edit the title field.

    Hi Pcosta,

I just took a look within the Admin CP and I was unable to find the sections you are referring to.

Here is how it looks for me: https://image.ibb.co/kLdetR/Screen_Shot_2017_11_21_at_11_22_10_PM.png

    Thanks,

Please enable advanced settings first. You may refer to this kb article: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/remove-advanced-yoast-seo-settings/

    Hi there,

I have found it. But is there a way to disable YOAST from adjusting my site titles? For example, YOAST has changed my site title from ‘Products | VOLTFUSE’ to ”Product Archive | VOLTFUSE’

I’m not a big fan of these default changes. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Alex

Currently, we do not offer the built-in ability to disable the title feature. You or your developer can modify the code to fit your needs. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes.

However, we found some example code here that might help.

If you are in need of a developer, we recommend checking out Code Poet, WordPress Jobs, or WordPress Professional Network for development & consultancy.
