That PHP code between the title tags gets the Title of the WordPress site.

You could try using a plugin, such as All in One SEO that allows you to change the title, keywords and description of your site. This will allow you to tailor your site more inline with what you want.

Remember that Search engines do not instantly change what they have cached for your site. Sometimes it can take a few days for that to update.

I waited a couple of days and I found the title tag in a Yahoo search.
But in a google search, the title tag still has not changed. Why would that be?

I really would like to stay away from plugins.
