• Under General settings WP asks for your site title. Is this a title to tell Google what the blog is about,” How to buy records cheap” or the site name, “Record Advice.com”

Where does the site title appear on the blog?

    Thank You

  • Hi,

Yes, it’s the text you should put when Google asks for your site’s name. For example, www.ads-software.com’s site title is WordPress. ??

Thank you Hardeep. Next is the taglines, is that where you put what the blog is about… SEO? Thanks

    Hi,

Kinda of. It’s the subtitle of your blog. For example, WordPress’ tagline is “Blog Tool, Publishing Platform, and CMS.”

Now if you want you can use it for SEO, but you can also use a SEO plugin to write a proper description of your website.

Since it appears on the browser tab of your site, it’s recommended to keep it short, in which case having a separate description is a better idea.

For example, if you visit yoast.com, you’ll see their tagline is “The Art & Science of Website Optimization,” while their description is “Yoast helps you with your website optimization, whether it be through software, courses, ebooks or site specific website reviews: we’re here to help.”

Let me know if it helps. ??

    Regards,
    Hardeep
