• Hi,

I’ve got an issue with one of my very busy websites in the last couple of days around the same time in the morning it’s being attacked causing the site to slow and go offline as it’s maxing out the server resources. I have WP All in One Security installed which stops brute force attacks but this attack seems to effect many files it’s like the site is just being over run.

We are using WP Supercache and have now changed to W3 Total Cache using memcache to try and help this.

Is there any way to stop this from happening as it’s effecting other clients on the server?

    Thanks,

    James Isles

  • Perhaps the server access logs will help you identify the IP from where the traffic is originating, then blacklist the IP in All-in-one.

    Hello,

Unfortunately we tried that and now it’s coming from multiple IPs.

No problem if there isn’t any other way and we haven’t had anything since we installed W3 Total Cache.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Can anyone help me with this it’s the site is still getting attacked and it’s not brute force lots of pages and files are being downloaded at the same time causing the site to lock up are there any plugins to stop this or would a CDN be better?
