Site URL update in media library

Change the URLs at Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard, then remove what you added to webconfig. That’s only intended as a temporary/emergency fix.

The URLs in settings > general have the correct url (https://shemakesmagic.com). I did as you suggested and removed them from the webconfig but this made no difference to the media library.

All the files in the media library still have the old url https://thelittlegreenhouse/wp-content/uploads…

Any other suggestions anyone?

Go to https://shemakesmagic.com/wp-admin/options-media.php and make sure there isn’t an old URL there.

Thanks Mika, but there’s nothing on this page that shows any URLs at all. It’s just general settings such as Image size settings etc.

Sorry, that’s the wrong URL. Try this instead: https://shemakesmagic.com/wp-admin/options-general.php

yes, these addresses are correct. As mentioned above I followed the steps in this post to update the URLs https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL.

All URLs throughout my site are correct except for the ULRs on images in the media library – both old images and any new images I add keep the old URL of thelittlegreenhouse.net

You can see when you copy the image URL that it says: https://thelittlegreenhouse.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/spider-1000px.jpg

Can you describe in detail the process you went through to move your site?

Well BlueHost took care of this. From my understanding the site wasn’t moved, the domains were just changed over. This was how they explained it to me in the email:

“Well, in your case, you only have one site. You’re not working with a second preexisting site. For you to change your account’s primary domain, you’d have to addon another domain on, or even register a new one if you haven’t yet.

So you wouldn’t be working with moving any files. You only have one site on this account, and if you add another domain and have us rename the account, the new domain will point to the place where the files are already at. No moving needed.”

Blast, they move it, so we have no details on what they did. ??

Have you contacted them about this? It’s pretty clear they didn’t do something quite right.

I have sent them three support tickets and they are just ignoring me.

Hm, ok. Well we can check a few things.

1. Make sure you don’t have anything like this in your wp-config.php file (either both lines or just one of the lines):

define('WP_HOME','https://thelittlegreenhouse.net');
define('WP_SITEURL','https://thelittlegreenhouse.net');

2. Make sure you don’t have anything like this in your theme’s functions.php file (either both lines or just one of the lines):

update_option('siteurl','https://thelittlegreenhouse.net');
update_option('home','https://thelittlegreenhouse.net');

3. Access your database via phpMyAdmin and following the guide at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database make sure that both the siteurl and home values are set to https://shemakesmagic.com
