Site very slow in creating a new post

  • Hello,

    in the last few days I’ve noticed a huge increase in the latency time when I try to open a new post. I’ve been waiting for three minutes. The same happens when I save/publish a post. I’ve disabled all ping services but pingomatic, but nothin changed. My site loads quickly, the problem is just in managing posts.

    Any suggestions?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I would add I’ve got another site, running on the same server, with the same plugins, and it has very comfortable latency times. I’ve been using the same theme in the last 3 years, and I didn’t load any new plugin recently. Maybe it’s the database dimension…

    Well, the problem seems to be the JetPack plugin. Not something I was unaware of, to be honest.

    I’m having the same problem. Everytime I try to access the admin panel with Jetpack activated, the site becomes unresponsive. It keeps loading the page and don’t stop.
