Site very slow to log in, then OK

  • My client’s site at carolinacottonties.com takes about a minute or longer to get to through the wp-admin login to the dashboard, but once I’m in, it works normally. This happens in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari (and yes, I clear the caches each time). This is a new behavior, and I suspect the problem may be a plugin. I found a bad plugin and disabled it (which helped for about an hour), but now the problem has returned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    – Also, with ALL plugins off, try switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
