So, I posted earlier today about an issue I was having with my site being down. I posted the PHP file that was giving the error here and someone confirmed my fear that the site had been hacked.

So, I deleted the files on my webhost’s server and re-installed from my backups. After it finally finished re-installing, now I get the following:

    “Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/ on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

I get this message when I try to access either the site itself or the dashboard log-in.

I know the chances are high that there’s just something dumb I haven’t done to get this to work but I have no idea. I’ve spent all day fighting this and I’m just rather frazzled. Can someone help with what the problem might be?

I should probably add that I’m pretty much illiterate when it comes to issues of code and such. I don’t know what could be wrong now that the backups are installed – do I have to change something in the wp_config? Is there something I need to tweak in the database?

Any help at all would be appreciated. I’m just getting frustrated and I’ve been websearching for answers all evening and finding zip.

    :/
