  • Thanks :). So you will need to deactivate or delete that theme using FTP or other file manager your host uses – see:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Login_Trouble#Deactivate_Theme

WP will then use the default theme and you should be able to login again.

Sorry for being so inept, but clearly how do you deactivate the theme using FTP?

also, it appears that signed up/registered for both wordpress.com and www.ads-software.com without knowing there are 2 different versions. i would like to utilitze wordpress.com but not sure if i have to uninstall the www.ads-software.com version.

Did you read the link I posted? Do you have FTP (or Cpanel) set up with your hosting company? Ask them if you don’t – it’s just a way to access files on a server. Once you’re connected, find the themes folder and delete or change the name on that one.

            theron-lite
twentytwelve (THIS ONE SHOULD BE THERE)

I did read the link you posted but I guess it’s not registering.
First of all, I know that I have to delete the theme and change to default theme (twentytwelve). However, the problem is I can’t access the admin page to do so. If possible, could you explain the steps in a simpler terms?

    My apologies,

    Jason

Is this site on WordPress.COM? If so, you’re on the wrong forums – these are only for self-hosted sites (i.e. you’re paying someone for hosting).

No, this is on www.ads-software.com(WordPress 3.5.2). I started this off from godaddy.com.

Okay, then here’s the GD info about FTP –

    https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/104/connecting-to-your-hosting-account-with-filezilla-ftp?locale=en

But this IS totally separate from WordPress.COM – if that’s what you would prefer to use, then you should just close your GD account and if you want to, you can use the domain name on WordPress.COM still.

But do be sure you understand that what you can do on WordPress.COM is much more limited – this explains the major differences:
