Site won’t load, shuts down IE

  • I am using wp hosted by fantico (sp) on hostgator. My site is QuianaMurray.com. I loaded a theme from the wp original template (site worked fine), then added the sticky plugin (still worked fine), then loaded feedburner (still worked fine). For a number of days after adding the plug-ins my site was fine and posting was fine.

    All of a sudden a few days ago I noticed my site started shutting down. I am now only able to get to my site through login.php. I cannot get the site to load any other way. If by chance it does load (once in the last few days) it immediately shuts down when i try to scroll down.

    Unfortunately I have no real experience with html so I have no clue how to change code or rewrite, etc. If anyone can suggest a solution or help me walk through possible solutions I’d appreciate it. Also just so you know, I did make one style edit from php the_date to php the_time. All other style, etc. has remained the same.

    One more bit of info. I do not post pics or anything else on the main page. I do have two other pages and I have one pic on each page (not large). These were here before the site plug-ins were added.

  • Well, the good news is, it’s not just you.

    The bad news is it killed IE for me too.

    I would get in touch with your host and see if they can run a virus scan.

    There are some other suggestions but I hesitate to make them just yet.

    Okay I contacted HG and they could not find a virus or any other such problem. Any other suggestions?

    I just visited your site running Windows XP and IE 7 with no problems (I even scrolled down ?? ).

    I’m not that familiar with WP however you could try uninstalling the plugins you listed in your first post in reverse order (start with the last one your installed).

    I have no idea how it will affect your site and/or the features/sections/areas. I take no responsibility for what may happen.

    What are you running (operating system/browser)? The more your can post, the more people may be able to help.

    I am having this same problem at filmgrenade.com! everyone is telling me it is the coding i am thinking about starting brand new by going back to 2.3 from 2.5 and then manually changing my code. Does anyone thing think is a good idea? I am defiantly going to try calling mediatemple about a virus scan.
