    Hey

    I have installed a multisite.

Site #1 works correctly. Super Admin has access

    Site #2 works but:

    • First it was a subdomain site and I could enter dashboard etc.
    • Then I pulled a new top level domain site#2.com
    • I set up DNS so that site shows correctly
    • I changed the sites domain inside WP for this site away from subdomain and over to the top level
    • Since then I am no longer signed in as super admin
    • User is registered for this site
    • Signing in at /wp-login I get a cookie error. I need to enable. Cookies are enabled though.
    • Bottom line I now have no access to admin side of things for this site.

What am I doing wrong thx….

I suspected Complianz GDPR cookie accept but that is now turned off for the site

I wonder if wordfence does something on the site. It is active for the Network.

I am really puzzled and need help urgently

  • Hi @hebhansen !

Have you set up cookies in your wp-config.php? See the documentation in https://developer.www.ads-software.com/advanced-administration/multisite/domain-mapping/#edit-wp-config-php

    @olgabulat

you are my new best friend. I’m probably in love… actually

that got cookie error removed. Thx!

    wordfence:

now I get an error that 2fa code is wrong. Is super admin not allowed access when I add another top level domain?

Do I sign in completely separate?

You could try disabling and re-enabling 2FA for your account:

    • Log in to the network admin dashboard.
    • Go to the Wordfence settings and disable 2FA for your account.
    • Re-enable 2FA and set it up again.

Also, check your database entries. Particularly check:

    • wp_blogs: Ensure the domain is correctly set.
    • wp_site: Ensure the domain is correctly set.
    • wp_sitemeta: Ensure the site URL is correctly set.
    • wp_##_options: Ensure the home and siteurl options are correctly set for the new domain.

    @olgabulat

    • wp_blogs – ok
    • wp_site – Only main site exists !!!
    • wp_sitemeta – url = main site and seems to work
    • wp_##_options – does not exist, nothing found in search Am I supposed to replace ## with something?
    • wp_options – Cannot open table, get this notification

    Status:

For site#2 I have a user that I made administrator. User logs in and 2FA activated. I have now made this user super admin. However when I switch site signed in user also switch to original super admin. So mind boggling to me

I will sign out entirely later and then back in. Deactivate 2FA if needs be, but first let me know your comment to wp_something_options and how to approach this. Thx

Now I managed to op wp_options. Only main site is referenced here. Nothing on site#2.

    Users can register: 0

I trust this is off for network, but not affecting subdomains or is this global? If so, how do I restrict registration for certain subdomains?

    Thanks for discussing this.

@hebhansen, can you see your sites in the Network Admin settings? Are the settings there correct?

    (@hebhansen)

    Hi @olgabulat

I see my sites in Net Admin Settings. Visiting one site I am log’ed in as one user. Visiting another site I am log’ed in as another user.

Maybe somehow this is supposed to make sense. I just need to get my head around it….. I will mark as solved ad then get back in case.

    Thx
