    Conversion API (CAPI) doesn’t work for some users hosting their websites with Siteground.

    After investigating such cases, we can’t find any other reason for the problem except some limitations imposed by the hosting.

    Strangely, but all our users that raised this problem are from Italy. It can be a simple coincidence, of course.

    If your website is hosted on Siteground and CAPI doesn’t work, please contact Siteground support and ask about this problem.

  • What is the result of this issue?

    I have a site in the UK that doesn’t seem to work with PixelYourSite and CAPI turned on. Just says Too Many Redirects and appends the URL with a long Facebook variable.

    @one3rdnerd
    On siteground plugin: Using the cache url excluder I’ve added url with wild cards to avoid them:

    https://www.MYSTORE.COM/*?fbclid=*

    This seems to work when testing in the excluder. Now to just wait and see if it is working in the wild for customers.

    I spoke with SG support and they offered the following:

    Let’ s fix it by adding a special rule that should stop the caching from caching those URLs and cause the issues
    Please, access your Site Tools -> Site -> File Manager -> public_html and find your .htaccess. In it paste this code:

    Header set Cache-Control “no-cache, private”`

    Hi @clickingclients,

    Thanks for chiming in with that info, very helpful.

    What issue were you facing before adding these wildcards? Were you also getting a Too Many Redirects issue with the FB pixel variable showing in the address?

    Or is something else happening for you?

    @one3rdnerd Yes I was getting that exact error.
    It seems to have fixed the issue.

    @clickingclients

    Thanks for confirming. I thought it was only me and maybe the issue was elsewhere but I’m pleased to hear you had the same issue and managed to resolve it.

    Do you think PixelYourSite is best? I have had this issue with both PixelYourSite and PixelCaffeine.

    I will give your wildcard workaround a try and see if it solves my issue and let you know. I appreciate you sharing.

    Thanks

    @one3rdnerd @clickingclients

    I have exactly the same problem.

    The solution mentioned above just seems to be disabling caching on all your pages you are using with facebook ads which would seriously effect performance?

    Looks like this is covered in this Siteground Optimizer Thread:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/301-redirect-36/page/3/

    Would be interested to hear if you still have the issue and if upgrading the SG Optimizer Plugin has resolved it without disabling caching
