I recently tried Automatic Platform Optimization for WordPress via Cloudflare’s login. It seemed to provide some improvement according to GTMetrix but results went in the other direction with Page Speed insights.
I had a number of questions via a Cloudflare ticket but they were quick to point out to me that I should not be signing up to APO if I am accessing the affiliate version of Cloudflare services via Siteground. They said I would have to stop using it and apply Cluodflare and the APO independently and some thing about changing zones. As this seems like a lot of hassle and from what I can see with little improvement, I don’t see the point. The site tools fast enough already and Page Speed Insights gives good results anyway. I find this improvement applies dramatically if Railgun and Rocket Loader are enabled under Speed, directly by logging into my Cloudflare account but according to support at CloudFlare I’m not supposed to use this if I am doing so as a SiteGround customer?
I see that the option to set up Cloudflare Full Page Caching is in the last tab of the SGO plugin. I am assuming this is the correct place to set this up, or is there anywhere else like in Site Tools or via my Cloudflare login? And, would my configuration with Railgun and Rocket loader conflict with this?
There was mention of some other improvement as well. Perhaps that relates to something DNS that was mentioned recently?
